What is JobJet?
JobJet is a carpool taken to the next level. Five to fifteen commuters ride together to and from work in a fully equipped passenger van to commute to work in West-Central Iowa.
How Does it Work?
Each JobJet van can accommodate one volunteer driver and up to 14 passengers. Each passenger pays one low monthly fare based on mileage and occupancy.
JobJet members live in close proximity to one another, work in the same general area and have similar work hours. JobJet members meet in a central location or set their route and time schedule and pay one monthly fare and travel to and from work together.
Ridesharing offers an economical, reliable and dependable alternative to driving alone to work. Vanpooling helps to reduce traffic, helps keep the air clean through reduction in emissions and lessens the demand for gasoline. Region XII Council of Governments assists commuters in organizing groups, providing vans, and maintaining the vanpool.

In exchange for driving the van, this commuter does not pay a monthly fare. The driver is responsible for scheduling vehicle maintenance and seeing that the vanpool runs smoothly. All drivers undergo annual driver training, drug and alcohol testing, possess a valid chauffeur’s license and have a safe driving record.
